Classification of main automobile wiring harnesses:

Main wiring harness – distributed in the chassis, engine compartment, and a small part in the cabin.

After the main wiring harness, some small wiring harnesses can be classified, including these: left front door wiring harness, right front door wiring harness, rear door wiring harness, ceiling wiring harness, rear door wiring harness (trunk wiring harness), antenna wiring harness, front bumper wiring harness, rear bumper Wiring harness, positive cable, negative cable.

Cockpit wiring harness (body wiring harness) – mainly distributed in the cabin.

Instrument wiring harness – distributed within the instrument panel. Engine wiring harness – distributed on the engine.

The functions of 6 common wiring harnesses in automobiles:

1. Engine wiring harness: A collection of wires connecting various components and systems of the engine. It is responsible for transmitting power and signals, and connecting engine control units, sensors, actuators, etc.

2. Body wiring harness: A wiring harness that acts on various equipment and systems in the body. It is responsible for transmitting power and signals, and connecting car lights, instrument panels, air conditioning systems, audio systems, etc.

3. Instrument wiring harness: A collection of wires connecting the instrument panel and the driver’s control panel, responsible for transmitting various indicators, instruments and control signals on the instrument panel.

4. Lighting harness: A collection of wires connected to the vehicle lighting system, responsible for transmitting power and signals, and connecting headlights, taillights, turn signals, etc.

5. Front and rear windshield wiring harness: It is responsible for transmitting power and signals to the electronic devices and sensors on the front and rear windshields, such as wipers, rain sensors and other equipment.

6. Seat wiring harness: A collection of wires that connects electronic devices and sensors on the seat. It is responsible for transmitting power and signals, and connecting seat heating, ventilation, massage and other functions.
